Wednesday Section President - Simon Ashton
As President of the Wednesday Section I would like to inform existing members and new members of our unique Wednesday Section at Hazel Grove Golf Club.
We currently have 110 members. The section is run by a committee of 10 members. The section provides a competitive and sociable environment for members. We stage Qualifying competitions in line with the Handicaps and Competition committee . The Section also contributes to the Development Fund for the Club and the Club Charities.
It is a great way to meet new friends and socialise with other club members. We also have Away Days which are subsidised for those members attending. They are excellent value for money.
All competitions are played on a Wednesday with a presentation of weekly prizes after the Competition. There is also a 2’s Comp where you can win a share of the prize fund (if you enter). Those members who stay for the presentation also receive a golf ball and the accolade of their peers if they score a 2.
Membership is £30 for the year. You are also expected to pay £50 sponsorship for a competition when it is your time to do so. As you can see with 110 members this would mean you sponsor a competition on average every 2 years. If anyone is interested please email wedsec@hazelgrovegolfclub.comfor further information.
