29 Apr 2025

Hazel Grove Golf Club has once again demonstrated its commitment to the local community by raising an impressive £5,800 in support of St Ann’s Hospice. This incredible amount was collected under the captainship of Debbie Wilson, who spearheaded the fundraising efforts at the club. The generous donation will go towards St Ann’s Hospice’s New Build Appeal, a vital project that will enhance the care and services the hospice provides to its patients and their families.

The fundraising efforts at Hazel Grove Golf Club included a series of events, all aimed at making a meaningful contribution to the hospice's future. From charity events to member donations, every effort was made to ensure that the total raised would make a difference. Thanks to Debbie’s hard work and dedication, the club exceeded expectations and presented St Ann’s with a cheque for £5,800.

Debbie Wilson, a well-known figure at Hazel Grove Golf Club, took the reins of this fundraising initiative with passion and determination. Her efforts were integral to the success of the campaign, and her captainship inspired members to get involved. From the very beginning, Debbie’s vision was clear, to support St Ann’s Hospice, an institution that provides essential care to people in their most vulnerable moments.

The moment of the cheque handover was filled with emotion and gratitude. Debbie, alongside fellow club members, had the honour of presenting the cheque to Julie Peters, one of St Ann’s Hospice’s dedicated fundraisers. Julie also shared some exciting news with Debbie. In recognition of the club’s remarkable contribution, Hazel Grove Golf Club’s name will be displayed in the new hospice building alongside other individuals and organizations who have made significant donations. This gesture is a testament to the generosity and commitment shown by the club and its members to the St Ann’s cause.

The New Build Appeal is a pivotal project for St Ann’s Hospice, aiming to create a modern, purpose-built facility that will improve the experience for patients, families, and staff alike. As part of the campaign, the hospice is reaching out to local businesses and individuals to help fund the development of a state-of-the-art space that will ensure St Ann’s can continue to deliver excellent care for years to come.

Julie shared an exciting invitation with Debbie: she will be personally inviting her to the grand opening of the new building in the new year. It’s a moment that promises to be both emotional and celebratory, marking the culmination of years of hard work and dedication to the project.

Thanks to the efforts of Hazel Grove Golf Club and its members, St Ann’s Hospice is one step closer to achieving its goal. This partnership highlights the power of community and the impact that organizations and individuals can have when they come together for a common cause.
